Mission: foster scientific excellence in the field of radiochemistry.

Objectives: development of environmental protection technologies based on radionuclide and isotopic methods.
Tasks:

  • Development and improvement of methods to determine radionuclides and isotopes, as well as development of technologies for the assessment of radionuclide dispersion and their impact to the environment. Deployment of the newly developed methods and technologies, training of the students and staff of the relevant stakeholder.
  • Development of environmental-friendly technologies using natural and anthropogenic radionuclides and isotopes (application of the marker methods to evaluate the spread of pollutants, processes and mechanisms in the environment, climate change issues and investigate biogeochemical cycles).

Facilities:

  • Gamma spectrometry
  • Alpha spectrometry
  • Beta radiation measurements
  • Radioanalytical methods: 238,239,240,241Pu, 241Am, 242,243,244Cm, 90Sr, 55Fe, 63Ni
