Join us at “FizTeCh 2026: Ideas Beyond Disciplines”

Can a complex scientific study be explained in just three minutes so that its essence is understood not only by experts in the field, but by everyone? 

On 27 October, FTMC will host “FizTeCh 2026: Ideas Beyond Disciplines”, an event dedicated to early-career researchers and science communication. In the final, 14 of the highest-rated FTMC doctoral candidates will present their research in a concise, clear and engaging three-minute format. 

This year, “FizTeCh” returns with a renewed concept. The event will assess not only the doctoral candidates’ scientific results, but also their ability to communicate research in a way that is accessible to an interdisciplinary and wider audience. 

14 finalists • 3-minute presentations • Prizes of up to EUR 2,000 

The event will feature: 

1. three-minute presentations by 14 finalists; 
2. poster sessions; 
3. audience voting; 
4. awards for the best oral and poster presentations; 
5. opportunities to exchange ideas and connect with fellow researchers. 

Second-, third- and fourth-year FTMC doctoral candidates who do not advance to the final will present their research during the poster sessions. 

Doctoral, Master’s and Bachelor’s students from other research and higher education institutions are also invited to submit poster presentations.
