LASER-PRO Invitation to Online Training “Intellectual Property Rights and Management Tools”

The LASER-PRO project invites you to participate in online practical training dedicated to the protection, management, and strategic use of intellectual property in the context of innovation and research.

Intellectual property is one of the most important assets of innovation-driven organizations; however, it is often underutilized or addressed too late. This training provides a clear and practical introduction to intellectual property rights and management tools that help protect innovations and use them strategically.

The training is designed for those seeking to gain a solid foundation in intellectual property protection and decision-making. The focus is placed on practical application rather than legal theory – participants will learn how to identify valuable intellectual property, manage it throughout the innovation lifecycle, and select appropriate protection strategies.

Participants will learn:

• core principles of intellectual property rights and inventions
• types of patents and protection strategies
• how and when to protect innovation results
• practical use of intellectual property databases
• fundamentals of IP strategy and valuation methods
• key licensing and intellectual property terms in collaboration and partnership agreements
• common intellectual property risks in innovation projects and how to avoid them

The training will conclude with an interactive Q&A session.

The training is dedicated for:

• startups from any sector
• entrepreneurs
• small and growing companies
• researchers and scientists working in innovation or commercialization fields

The training will be delivered by Greta Žėkienė, Head of the Intellectual Property Management Unit at Kaunas University of Technology. She has extensive practical experience in intellectual property protection, management, and commercialization. She works with IP strategies, patenting, licensing, contract drafting, and intellectual property management in research and innovation projects, and also advises research teams and startups on IP-related matters.
