On December 13th, 2019, the first FTMC Chess Tournament was organized by the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) and Vilnius Chess Club.

Everyone who played chess at least once was invited to compete with colleagues. The event was opened by FTMC director  prof. Gintaras Valušis and Grandmaster (awarded by FIDE) Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen.

“I wish you a good tournament. Hope it will become a beautiful annual tradition. I really admire this place: a small geographical area with high concentration of intelligence and the future of our country." said V. Čmilytė-Nielsen.
