FTMC Spring Cross 2026: Join the Academic Community on the Run!

We kindly invite you all to the active celebration of the scientific community - the FTMC Spring Cross - on 17 April 2026. Wonderful and (hopefully!) warm weather, a cosy forest setting, the cheerful buzz of like‑minded people, and the most delicious porridge in the world – we’re in for a lovely afternoon!

Partners of the event: VU Health and Sports Center and VILNIUS TECH Sports and Arts Center.

We invite staff members from all universities, research centres and colleges across Lithuania. Come along, get to know your colleagues and enjoy the conversations!

If running is not your cup of tea, we invite you to choose the 3 km walking track! It's perfect for walking with Nordic walking poles, but it's also fine without them!

Information for those wishing to walk with Nordic poles: If you don’t have any but would like to give them a try, we will have some available on site (numbers are limited, so when registering for the event, please make sure to indicate that you will need them). Before the Cross start, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a short training session with the poles.

We will run (and walk) in the charming surroundings of the Sapieginė park. After the run we will treat all participants with hot Lithuanian buckwheat porridge with (and without) meat and tea.

You can view the route for the 3, 6 and 9 km tracks by clicking this link: https://shorturl.at/bokpj

Important: The event is only for staff of academic institutions, not for students.

Venue: 27 Plytinės St., Vilnius (next to the VILNIUS TECH Faculty of Transport Engineering).

Meeting time: 17 April, 11:00 (change of clothes if necessary; issue of numbers, Nordic Walking training, if necessary)

Start time: 12:00.

Registration until: 13 April (inclusive): https://forms.office.com/e/MGwDQAXXaX
