Vice-Minister of Finance Lukas Jakubonis: FTMC Innovations Could Contribute Significantly to Lithuania’s Defence
The Vice-Minister of Finance of Lithuania, Lukas Jakubonis, visited FTMC. During the visit, the Center’s scientists presented the technologies, ongoing research, and products being developed at FTMC, while also discussing their potential applications in Lithuania’s defence and security sector. “The innovations developed at the FTMC have the potential to become an important part of Lithuania’s defence and security ecosystem. It is especially important that FTMC already has a dedicated defence technologies team actively working on solutions that can contribute to strengthening national security,” says Jakubonis. FTMC Director Prof. Dr. Ramūnas Skaudžius emphasized that rapid technological development and efficient financing mechanisms are currently among the key factors driving defence innovation. “Today, the most important factor in defence technologies is speed - both in developing the technologies themselves and in ensuring flexible and fast financing solutions. I am pleased with the constructive and in-depth discussion with the Vice Minister and the opportunity to present how FTMC’s ideas and expertise can contribute to strengthening Lithuania’s defence innovation ecosystem,” notes Prof. Skaudžius. We thank the Vice-Minister for the visit, meaningful discussions, and attention to the role of science and innovation in building a safer and technologically stronger Lithuania.
