Researchers at the Center for Physical Sciences and Technology (FTMC) have developed a laser-based fabrication approach of large-scale SERS substrates. The results were published on the cover of the journal „ACS Omega".
FTMC researchers dr. Evaldas Stankevičius, dr. Ilja Ignatjev, Vita Petrikaitė, prof. Algirdas Selskis and prof. Gediminas Niaura have demonstrated a simple, reliable, cost-effective, laser-based fabrication approach of large-scale SERS substrates.
SERS substrates were fabricated using a repeated laser treatment of thin gold films. The manufactured SERS substrates exhibit a high enhancement factor, which is in the range of 106.
